eNAM 2.0 Launched: The “Amazon of Agriculture” is Here (But Watch Out for These Glitches)
⚠️ Important Update (December 2025): The Govt of India has temporarily rolled back eNAM 2.0 in Rajasthan due to technical glitches. Mandis have reverted to the old eNAM 1.0 platform until further notice. Only 10 pilot mandis are using the new version.
The Government of India has officially rolled out eNAM 2.0 (National Agriculture Market Version 2.0), a massive upgrade to the country’s digital mandi system. While the original eNAM connected mandis within states, eNAM 2.0 breaks state borders, allowing a farmer in Kashmir to sell Apples directly to a trader in Maharashtra without physically transporting the produce first.
However, the rollout hasn’t been smooth. Pilot programs in Rajasthan and other states have reported “data migration glitches,” leaving traders confused.
This guide covers everything you need to know about eNAM 2.0 features, how to register, and how to navigate the current technical bottlenecks.
What is New in eNAM 2.0? (Key Features)
The upgrade moves eNAM from a “Market Connector” to a “Full-Service Ecosystem.” Here are the game-changing features:
1. True Inter-State Trade (One Nation, One Market)
Previously, you needed a separate license for every mandi.
- New Feature: A Unified Central License allows traders to buy from any eNAM mandi in India.
- Benefit: Farmers get higher prices because buyers from deficit states (e.g., Tamil Nadu buyers bidding for UP Potatoes) drive up the bid value.
2. Integrated Logistics (Uber for Trucks)
One of the biggest hurdles was: “I sold my crop online, but who will deliver it?”
- New Feature: eNAM 2.0 integrates with logistics aggregators. When you close a deal, you can instantly book a truck from the portal itself to transport goods from the farm gate to the buyer’s warehouse.
3. Fintech & Payment Gateway
- New Feature: The new “e-Payment” gateway supports multiple banks and UPI.
- Benefit: Money is credited directly to the farmer’s bank account before the goods are fully handed over (depending on contract terms), reducing the risk of fraud.
4. Expansion of Commodities
The government has added 9 new commodities to the tradable list, bringing the total to 247.
- New Additions: Green Tea, Virgin Olive Oil, Broken Rice, and specialized spices.
- Impact: This opens the platform to plantation workers and niche farmers, not just grain growers.

The “Rajasthan Glitch”: What You Need to Know
While the system is powerful, early adopters in Rajasthan are facing technical issues. According to recent reports , the migration from the old server to the eNAM 2.0 cloud has caused:
- Login Failures: Old IDs not working on the new portal.
- Data Mismatch: Past transaction history missing for some Commission Agents (Arhatiyas).
- Gate Entry Delays: Trucks waiting for hours because the digital gate pass system is slow.
Solution for Farmers: If you are in Rajasthan or MP, do not rely 100% on the app for the next few weeks. Carry physical copies of your Gate Pass and Registration Slip to the mandi to avoid getting stuck.
