⚠️ Urgent Alert: The Maharashtra Government has discontinued the “1 Rupee Crop Insurance” scheme for the Rabi 2025 season. Farmers must now pay the standard PMFBY premium rates. The application deadline is fast approaching.

The online registration for Rabi Crop Insurance (Pik Vima) 2025-26 is currently open on the PMFBY portal. While some crops had an early deadline of December 15, farmers growing Wheat, Gram, and Horticulture crops in many districts still have a chance to apply until December 31, 2025.

Premium Rates: “1 Rupee Scheme” Ended

In the previous Kharif season, the Maharashtra government paid the entire premium, charging farmers only ₹1. This has changed. For Rabi 2025, the standard Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) rates apply:

  • Rabi Crops (Wheat, Gram, etc.): Farmers pay 1.5% of the Sum Insured.
  • Horticulture/Cash Crops: Farmers pay 5% of the Sum Insured.
  • Balance Premium: Paid by Centre and State Govt (50:50).

Example Calculation: If your Wheat crop is insured for ₹40,000 per hectare, you must pay a premium of ₹600 (1.5%).

Required Documents for Online Application

To apply at a CSC Center or on pmfby.gov.in, carry these documents:

  1. 7/12 Extract (Satbara): Must be current (online digital signature preferred).
  2. 8-A Extract: To verify total land holding.
  3. Bank Passbook: Account must be linked to Aadhaar (DBT Enabled).
  4. Aadhaar Card: Mandatory for e-KYC.
  5. Sowing Declaration (Pik Pera): Self-declaration form stating which crop you have sown.

How to Apply Online? (Step-by-Step)

  1. Visit Portal: Go to .
  2. Farmer Login: Click on “Farmer Corner” and log in with your Mobile Number.
  3. New Application: Select “Apply for Crop Insurance” -> “Rabi 2025”.
  4. Fill Details: Enter your State (Maharashtra), District, and Bank details.
  5. Add Land: Enter your Survey Number. The system will auto-fetch data from the Mahabhulekh server.
  6. Pay Premium: Pay the calculated premium via UPI or Net Banking.
  7. Print Receipt: Crucial! Save the Application ID/Receipt. You will need this to claim insurance later.
